THE RECTORY HOTEL
It's actually quite a strange feeling staying somewhere just 40 minutes from your house. The packing is a little more laid back than if you were going somewhere a little more long-haul, you don't check the oil and water in your car and there's no need to alert the bank that you are going anywhere.
The drive from Stow on the Wold to The Rectory is pretty much, if not all, the Fosse Way, and as you can imagine very pleasant; passing the edge of Bourton on the Water, Northleach, Cirencester and Kemble before arriving in the village of Crudwell. It's not your picture postcard Cotswolds village but it's perfectly located with Malmesbury, Tetbury and Cirencester all withing a 15 minute drive. The prettiest part of the village is where The Rectory sits, just off the road and unsurprisingly next to the parish church and was designed with a large number of bedrooms to accommodate the rector’s fourteen children... Four.....teen?!
