In the heart of the Cotswolds, only ten minutes from Burford, this award winning pub restaurant is a go-to destination for food lovers.

Quintessentially English, oozing with Cotswold charm, The Swan at Southrop is part of Thyme on the Southrop Manor Estate. This well-kept secret is now well and truly out of the bag.

The Restaurant and Snug in this 17th century pub feature flagstone floors and open fireplaces with an understated country charm in the soft furnishings and colour palette creating a very relaxing environment that is enhanced by the warm welcome delivered by The Swan’s team.

A sustainable ethos and a dedication to good, honest food served without pretention is at the heart of The Swan’s kitchen. It's menus change daily in response to the produce in their two acre kitchen garden, in addition to using fresh eggs from their flocks of hens, geese, quail and ducks and lamb, hogget and mutton from their rare-breed sheep. A read the of the back of the menu during your visit will tell you what they are harvesting that month with unusual flavours abound and a strong emphasis on heritage vegetables.

There is also a traditional public bar, beloved of locals, where you can enjoy Cotswold beers from Hook Norton Brewery or The Swan’s very own cask beer ‘The Village Tipple’, alongside a good selection of lagers and ales. Their wine list is extensive with delicious house wines at more than reasonable prices, to fine wines and an impressive selection of English wines too. The menu also offers a surprising selection of botanical cocktails inspired by the Cotswold hedgerows.  For celebrations The Garden Room is a light and sophisticated private dining space for up to 26 seated or 50 for a cocktail party.  Outside, courtyard gardens by landscape designer Bunny Guinness also offer an outside bar for the warmer months.

Thyme’s exquisitely renovated historic buildings comprise a luxurious hotel, cocktail bar, spa facilities (opening late 2017), cookery school and Tithe Barn for events, in addition to The Swan. So don’t miss the opportunity to have a look at the estate and perhaps book a room, a treatment or a cookery class too.. you will not be disappointed!
