THE PLOUGH INN
FORD
NEAR TEMPLE GUITING, CHELTENHAM, GLOUCESTERSHIRE. GL54 5RU
www.theploughinnford.co.uk

Located at the foot at Jonjo O'Neill's Jackdaws Castle gallops, it is no surprise that The Plough Inn at Ford has a strong association to the sport of kings and is a favourite with jockeys and trainers alike.

After parking in one of the two good sized car parks, you will enter the pub through the courtyard which in the summer is a wonderful place to enjoy the sunshine with the hanging baskets in full bloom and cream teas on offer. At the bottom of the courtyard you will find the wonderful garden which is full of picnic benches and a children's play area making it a great spot for families.

As you enter the pub, you enter the small snug and bar area filled with two oak settles that are usually occupied by locals enjoying a pint of Donnington Ale. To the right is a larger room with beautifully weathered Cotswold stone walls, a lovely flagstone floor and a couple of good sized tables to enjoy lunch or a drink or to relax in front of the TV and roaring log fire during the racing season.

Behind the bar, you will find BB and SBA - the two favourite ales from nearby Donnington Brewery as well as more recognised lager, cider and Guinness as well as a good selection of wines and spirits.

The menu never disappoints and is perfect for all ages. The classic daily menu is full of hearty dishes including Pies, Gammon, Ham, Egg and Chips and Steak with a specials menu changing monthly. On a Sunday you will find a delightful menu full of many starters, roasts of all kinds and three vegetarian options, lots of choice for children and baguettes for those not wanting too much. During Asparagus Season, The Plough is one of the finest places to go and enjoy some wonderful dishes. There are two restaurants, an upstairs which is slightly more formal than downstairs yet both are very relaxed with a lovely atmosphere.

Located around six miles from Broadway, Winchcombe, Stow on the Wold and Bourton on the Water, The Plough is a great place to stay and explore the Cotswolds as well as some lovely walks on its doorstep. It offers 3 Bed and Breakfast rooms in "The Talbot" - cobble-stoned building once used as a hayloft, all boasting 4 Diamonds for guest accommodation from both the Heart of England Tourist Board and the AA.

It is famous around the horseracing community and is the perfect place to head back to after a day at Cheltenham Racecourse to enjoy some live music. We highly recommend that you book a table early if you wish to eat as it can get very busy!

This charming family and dog friendly pub has a wonderful atmosphere and is a great place to enjoy a good meal and some jolly tales from locals in the bar. It's a pub that is full of character and steeped in history and a wonderful place to visit during any month of the year.
