THE KILLINGWORTH CASTLE
WOOTTON
GLYMPTON ROAD, WOOTTON, WOODSTOCK. OX20 1EJ
www.thekillingworthcastle.com

The wonderfully named 17th century Killingworth Castle was derelict of over a year until it was brought back to its former glory in 2012 by landlords Jim and Claire Alexander. Since then the pub has gone from strength to strength boasting several awards for it's food and drink.

As a sister pub to The Ebrington Arms near Chipping Campden, the "Killy" offers the same quality of outstanding food with the menu boasting dishes using superb local and seasonal ingredients. There are snacks, starters, mains, pub classics and a delightful pudding menu to choose from. Sunday lunch is served from midday - 3.30pm and is superb with a choice of 2 or 3 courses allowing you to settle in for the afternoon.

Behind the bar, like at The Ebrington, you will find the delightful "Yubby" Ales as other local and guest ales. Lagers include Staropramen and Oranjeboom and you can also get Fuller’s black cab (their version of Guinness) and Hogans cider. there is also a large gin and whisky selection too.

Located just a couple of miles from both Blenheim Palace, Woodstock and just 20 minutes from Bicester Village, The Killingworth Castle is a wonderful place from where to explore the Cotswolds. In 2015 it's adjoining barn buildings were wonderfully converted into eight individually designed ensuite luxury bedrooms with stunning roll top baths and wonderfully comfortable hand-crafted oak beds. On arrival, guests can enjoy a small decanter of sherry and some homemade biscuits. A freshly cooked breakfast awaits you in the morning before you head out for the day.

In summer months you can dine al fresco while soaking up some sunshine and drinks in the beautiful garden at the side or at the lovely trio of wooden tables at the front of the pub.

Te Killingworth Castle is a pub that offers wonderful food, a fantastic array of drinks and a perfect place to rest your head for a night or two or spend an evening at the bar next to the log fire. Whichever you choose, you will receive a very warm welcome and will want to return again and again.
