CHELTENHAM CRICKET FESTIVAL 2025
17 JULY - 5 AUGUST 2025

The Cheltenham Cricket Festival is one of the most loved events in the social and sporting calendar. The idyllic setting of Cheltenham College provides the perfect backdrop for cricket at the height of summer.

This year, Gloucestershire welcome Sussex Sharks for a double header men's and women's T20 Blast, Lancashire and Middlesex in the County Championship and Derbyshire Falcons in the 50-over Metro Bank One-Day Cup.

Elevate your experience at the festival in the Venatour Boundary Hub; a private marquee with your own pitch facing viewing area, featuring guest speakers from the world of local sport during each lunch and tea interval.

Gloucestershire have been playing in the stunning grounds of Cheltenham College for over 150 years. It was started by James Lillywhite in 1872 with the first match being played against Surrey and was won by Gloucestershire. No other Cricket Festival in the world has been played on the same ground for that length of time and no other cricket festival in the world lasts for twelve days or more.

WHERE TO EAT, DRINK AND SLEEP IN CHELTENHAM

If you're making a night, or few days of it, in Cheltenham, here are some of our favourite places to eat, drink and sleep around the town,
Drinking

Located just off Bath Road in the town, Cheltenham College is close to some decent pubs, pub gardens, cafes and restaurants to enjoy a drink or bite to eat before the games.

If the sun is shining, a spacious beer garden can be found a short walk from the ground at The Exmouth Arms. If you are looking to fuel up with a hearty breakfast before play, look no further than the brilliant Curious Cafe. Breakfast is served everyday from 8am-2:45pm and we highly recommend the Blacksmiths if you have a big appetite! Our favourite pub on Bath Road is The Brown Jug where you can enjoy good food and drink.

Dotted around town, Real Ale fans will find a home at Sandford Park Alehouse - an award-winning gem with a rotating board of 20+ draught beers and a charming courtyard. While those willing to head a bit further afield should make a beeline to DEYA Taproom, for a taste of Cheltenham's homegrown, award-winning brews.

If you're looking for a "sports" pub then Tailors will have you covered with 17 Television’s including a large screen and an 85 Inch TV, showing all major sporting events. They also do cracking roasts on a Sunday which is perfect when settling in to an afternoon of sport.

In the town centre, The Tavern is a great spot to grab a drink and some decent food.

Eating

The food scene in Cheltenham is truly brilliant. From incredible Texan BBQ/Taiwanese fusions and charming French bistros to great steaks and banging burgers, the town is brimming with some awesome restaurants for you to explore.

The newly opened Woozy Pig is one of the closest to the college ground and offers some stunning classic burgers, sides and tater tots, as well as an awesome brunch menu on a Sunday including the Woozy full English, waffles and, of course, brunch burgers.
