THE STABLE DOORS ARE OPEN
Cheltenham has just added to its already flourishing food scene with the arrival of a popular, and award winning, cider, pie and pizza house - The Stable. Born in 2009 in an outbuilding of a hotel in Dorset, Richard and Nikki Cooper created something quite special. 6 years and 12 more locations - including Bristol, Bath, Fistral Beach and Cardiff - later, we finally have one on our doorstep!
The first thing you notice about stable is that that they are serious about cider.. they tell us such in the drinks menu! The wall is packed with cider pigeon holes containing many flavours from various regions with another 17 on draught if you fancy a pint of Pheasant Plucker (try saying that after your 4th pint), Lilly's Fire Dancer and the more traditional Thatchers.
Upstairs sits an open kitchen creating some pizza delights with some recognisable local locations added to the names. You can enjoy a Cotswold Lion, Pitville Piggy or The Sp-cy GCHQ among other more conventional ones. There is not a lot more we can say about them as each and every one is absolutely wonderful. The Neptune's Fountain is a fish delight! The Cotswold Lion, topped with Marinated Lamb with mint and sweet potato is just superb and vegetarian Blue Forest is a delicious alternative for the non carnivores!
Located on Clarence Street, The Stable offers a relaxed, fresh and exciting place to dine with friends, family or just as a couple. It's interior is wood heavy (as you would expect in a stable) with wall art that will catch your eye around every corner!
This is a place to be enjoyed by families, friends and couples alike. Check out our pictures below and their website and get booking! stablepizza.com
